We are extremely excited to officially announce the opening of our Indonesian office in Batam where our digital and creative excellence hub will operate.

Gemstar, a strategic growth partner for start-ups, scale-up businesses and enterprises wanting to expand into Asia, officially opened its Indonesian headquarters on Wednesday, 7 September.

The office will operate out of Batam, the closest part of Indonesia to Singapore, and assist any Australian businesses with the desire to expand into Indonesia and greater Asia.

According to Gemstar Founder Gemma Manning, there has never been a better time for Australians to capitalise on the opportunities with its neighbouring country.

“In July 2020, the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) came into force. It is now estimated by some reports that Indonesia will be the world’s fifth-largest economy by 2030,” said Gemma.

“Our mission is to forge closer ties between Indonesia and Australia, and bridge the gap between innovators, investors and businesses that are on their path to expansion into Asia.”

Gemstar has been advising businesses in the region for the past 10 years and was recognised for its efforts to foster bilateral trade and development between Singapore and Australia at the highest level by Singapore’s Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong at the ASEAN 2018 Summit. With the aim now to unlock the potential of the economic partnership between Australia and Indonesia, Gemstar is the perfect launch pad.

“We are a company that is serious about sustainable growth, delivering outcomes and making a real impact across the ASEAN region. We help businesses achieve their growth goals with the region and rest of the world in mind,” said Gemma.

“In the process of setting up our office in Batam and building our digital and creative excellence hub, I have been blown away by the sheer talent that is available in Indonesia. At a time when the rest of the world, in particular Australia, is facing a serious digital talent shortage, Indonesia boasts at least 75 million ‘digital souls’ – digital natives who are very tech and digitally savvy.”

Gemstar offers an end-to-end commercial growth service for any company regardless of size. From market entry readiness and growth strategies, to business matching and connections, to marketing and communications, technology and development, incorporation and banking, to recruiting and onboarding services, Gemstar has any business’s entire go-to-market and commercial needs covered.
